Chair Kehoe called the public hearing to order at 6:50 p.m.

LEGAL NOTICE
Public notice is hereby given that the Town Council of the Town of East Hartford, Connecticut, will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at 6:45 p.m. in the Town Council Chambers, 740 Main Street, East Hartford, Connecticut, to hear public comment the sale of the property known as Willowbrook School, located at 95 Willowbrook Drive.
Any person(s) wishing to express an opinion on this matter may do so at this meeting.

Chair Kehoe gave a brief history of the property at 95 Willowbrook Drive, where Willowbrook School is located. Goodwin College responded to the town’s Request for Proposal (RFP) to purchase the property for $1,025,000 and to lease-back the building to the Board of Education for a period of ten years.
The following people came forth against the sale of Willowbrook School to Goodwin College:
Peter Gero, 132 Sandra Drive; Steve Trigo, 28 Manor Circle, and Susan Kniep, 50 Olde Roberts Street.
Esther Clarke, 197 Langford Lane, suggested waiting to sell 95 Willowbrook Drive until the economy recovers and the property is worth more.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:14PM.
